No - this is not my house . . .

This photo was part of a creativity exercise I did a while ago which was a study of light, shadow and textures. This is one of a group of rental cottages in Truro, MA which is here on Cape Cod. Check out the slide show for more pics.

Clean and simple (CAS) circle card

In looking at some other blogs by SCSers I was directed at one of them to this great blog called Clean & Simple Stamping and I decided to join in this week's sketch challenge which was a circle card.  I have never done a circle card before and had to do a little bit of work in my SCAL to get a circle card shape which met on top for the fold (most of what was out on the net was just a cicle shape.  I will says that while I loved this sketch challenge there was nothing "simple" about the part where the sentiment goes - not easy to create a layered band across a circle!  Special note: the image I used is from my StampPatch sister Jacque's company Scrolls Work which has a blend of lovely images like these, wonderful realistic photo images and steampunk to make any steampunkers heart sing!

Image is "Kelly & Trina" by Scrolls Work stamped with Tim Holtz's Distressed Ink Tea Dye and colored lightly with copics for the hand colored vintage photo feel; Sentiment from All Night Media; DP is DCWV (of course!) and all those circles and scalloped circle are free SVGs using SCAL on my cricut.  Red pearls (it needed a little bit of bling for color balance) are Queen & Co.

I love the background paper and the way you've picked up the red. Also using that stamp is unusual and effective.

Nice job on the circle card -- and I agree that sentiment strip was not super easy. If it hadn't been for my circle nesties, who knows how long it may have taken me! Lovely image, sweetly colored. Very pretty card!
