No - this is not my house . . .

This photo was part of a creativity exercise I did a while ago which was a study of light, shadow and textures. This is one of a group of rental cottages in Truro, MA which is here on Cape Cod. Check out the slide show for more pics.

I promised you scrapbook pictures and . . .

. . . scrapbook pictures you are going to get!  I have completed more then these pages but these are the ones I have taken photos of so far.  I have never done scrap booking before but I wanted to be able to document my goddaughters' lives so this will be one of their Christmas presents (they are both now old enough that these are presents that will be appreciated).  Their mom (my BFF Trisha) has raised them to make hand crafted items for one part of their presents every year - soaps, candies, pot holders, ornaments, etc. - so they expect and appreciate the hand crafted gifts they get from their grandma and from me.  I think in part because they understand the work that goes into making a gift verses just buying stuff.

This first set of pictures is part of the pages I have made for the youngest - Kate.  I used my SCAL a lot as well as some standard cricut cartridges.  The paper of choice was mostly DCWV as they have a female children's block DP set that had lots of orange and Katie LOVES orange and absolutely HATES pink!  Wish you could see the double layering on her name - one in orange shimmer paper from Bazzil and the shadow layer in orange CS.  Butterflies are all MS punches and border punches.  Kate is much older then this picture but this is my favorite of her and as Auntie Gale is making the book then Auntie Gale gets to pick the feature photo for the opening page!

These are most all of her school photos including nursery school (1 year was missing which Mom has now finally found so I will add that to the set in the upper left corner).  The title is a free download SVG file from SVGCuts on my SCAL using Bazzil shimmer and basic papers for a paper piecing title image.

I created the titles for the troop numbers in SCAL.  The flower is an awesome 3D flower from SVGCuts Fall Flower kit.  Florishes are a part of Prima Marketing "Say It with Pearls" Swirls Fimo Brown.
