No - this is not my house . . .

This photo was part of a creativity exercise I did a while ago which was a study of light, shadow and textures. This is one of a group of rental cottages in Truro, MA which is here on Cape Cod. Check out the slide show for more pics.

Plein d'air (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

So much to do and art class too! 42000 Teapotters in an art studio all trying to pull something over on the teacher while they get their blank canvas covered. Confused? Amused? Check out this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge: WATER COLORS, OILS AND CHALK! HEY, WHAT'S THAT UNDER YOUR SMOCK?

So here is my story:

I tried - I really tried - to stay in the studio with 42000 wild and whirly teapot party artists, but it just got too crazed so I threw on my coat, grabbed my portable easel and went out to paint a landscape of the village - Plein d'air they call it. We have had a major snow storm here on the Cape so every thing is covered with almost a foot of snow. It all looked so lovely but my water for my watercolors - water soluble crayons actually - kept freezing. Maybe I should have throw a little alcohol into the water :-) Finally its done and now I can go get a hot cup of tea and some cookies and warm up while I watch the rest of the teapotters trying to hid stamps and embossing folders and everything else under their smocks!

I needed one more special holiday card and this blank canvas idea was perfect. It is also a perfect time to wish all of you "Peace on Earth"! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Image - I have no idea. I received this stamped image in a swap a few years ago and I just uncovered it from where it was stashed - water colored with water soluble crayons and then a little stickles on the snow in the foreground to bling it up; sentiment is Anna Griffin 3-D Christmas stickers; DP is our girl MS.

Kenny K "Xmas Shopping" Re-deux

Did you miss me? Been decking the halls and finishing the shopping. Sometimes the crafts just have to wait. Of course I made some cards for a secret elf swap but I can’t show those LOL.
So today’s card is for two challenges. First, it is for Kenny K’s Krafty Girlz challenge #23 “Let it snow” which wanted anything snow related. I think I got that covered! The second challenge is for Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT124 “Boisterous Bree, You're the Next Star of Glee! Now Be Done With this Shopping Spree!” This card is for a very special young lady, Abby, who is 15 ½ years old and has a rare tumor in her lower back. She will be our special project for the next year, which will be the duration of her chemo. If you are a SCS who got here through the KennyK challenge or are a follower, please go read the Destination Station#124 about her and consider making her your special project too (or contact me and I'll pass the information on to you).

Now Bree is the next star of Glee, but she is stuck in a shopping spree. She is just a shopping fend – know what I mean? She has the mall cop Hank following her and her choreographer Paul too (trying to keep an eye on her and figure out what to do) . . . So picture this: Bree walking around the mall loaded down with 42,000 packages and Hank and Paul following her around hoping she would just sit down!

So here’s the deal, Neal! Neal is Bree’s voice coach and he is anxious for his protégée to become a big star – quite a feather in his cap. He always is wearing some stupid cap so he is well known at the local cap store. That is where he met Shelly. Now Shelly is a professional personal shopper. She shops all the hot spots and gets the best deals. So Neal’s idea is to hire Shelly to do all the shopping that Bree needs getting Bree (and Paul) back to rehearsal where they belong. Now Shelly has donned her Santa hat, her pink Uggs (shoes were always Shelly’s one weakness until she found her Uggs – now she has 42,000 pairs of boots and forget about those shoes!), and is ready to get Bree everything for under the Christmas tree and a few things to make any girl’s heart sing! So now Bree is ready to be the big new star of Glee thanks to Shelly.

Okay teapotters – did you find the bonus phrase?
